The VIR add-on turns your Veypor into a full-featured, high accuracy lap timer. It gives you a reliable and compact lap timing system for cars or motorcycles.

Automatic Accuracy

The Veypor Infra-Red lap timer allows extremely accurate and automatic lap timing with 1/100th of a second accuracy.  Laps are detected each time a trackside transmitter is passed and the Veypor automatically stores the lap number & time along with max speed, RPM and other parameters.

Incredibly Simple Installation

The VIR is easy to use and even easier to install. Simply plug it in to your existing Veypor unit, select the VIR Triggered mode from the Circuit Timer Menu and you're ready to go!

Not Just Lap Times

Since the VIR works as a part of the Veypor system you aren't limitted to just seeing lap times. In addition to split times, the current lap number, lap time and best lap, the Veypor also displays your gear, RPM and speed. Combine that with the Veypor's built-in high intensity shift light and you have a complete racing system including all necessary gauges. If you use the VIR with a VR2 you can even datalog all of this information for hours on end.

After the race you can review all of your lap times and then save them to the Veypor's permanent FLASH memory or download them to a PC.

The VIR takes full advantage of the Veypor's large, bright and easily viewable display. All information is available at a glance and you can even choose between several different display layouts including a stripped down race mode that only shows vital information.

The Infra Red lap timing system consists of two components: 1 - A trackside beacon/transmitter that projects an infrared beam across the track, usually at the start line and possibly at other points along the track for split-time data. 2 - A receiver unit (VIR) that is mounted on the motorcycle in such a way that it moves through the trackside beacon's infrared beam as the vehicle passes.

Upon detection of the infrared transmitter beam the Veypor automatically records the lap time, and lap number with very high accuracy and without the need for user intervention, such as pushing a button.

Many tracks have beacon systems available for use. The VIR Lap Timer was tested with the following beacon transmitters and will work with most transmitters on the market:

• Alfano 
• XT Racing 
• Mychron

Installing the VIR couldn't be easier: 

• Plug the Veypor harness into the VIR and plug the VIR into the Veypor. 
• The VIR receives all its power and control information from the existing Veypor harness. No splicing, soldering, cutting, not even a screwdriver is necessary for installation.

The receiver is installed on the side of the vehicle facing the trackside transmitter and at the same height.  The transmitter box is securely fastened to the vehicle using the included tie wraps or by using Velcro or bolting the mounting flanges of the box directly to the vehicle.

The VIR is also compatible with the Veypor Heads Up Display for the ultimate racing package.
